Manifesto by Leonetto Cappiello in 2022
The famous Victoria Arduino manifesto of 1922, signed by the futurist Leonetto Cappiello, was a great testimony to the cultural and industrial fervour of those times. In the manifesto, the artist recounts, with futurist rigour, the association between the espresso coffee machine and the train: the same functioning principle by means of steam production and the same benefit of speed of delivery. Both the train and the coffee machine have left their marks on a period of great transformation.

In 2024, design breaks free from established formats and conventions, and embraces the new ambit of eclecticism. It invites you to boldly combine styles and patterns, challenging predefined rules. The key to this new era? To fearlessly mix the modern with the vintage. To explore boldness in colours and shapes, while always maintaining a touch of minimalism. It is a celebration of essentiality, where functionality meets elegant and timeless design.
This mix of elements provides the opportunity to create unique environments that reflect the personality and emotions of those who live in them. There is no single dominant style, but rather a fusion of different influences, making each space a living story of experiences and passions.
And this is where this fabric becomes the perfect choice: its texture perfectly embodies elegance and boldness, modern colours intertwine masterfully with neutral tones, perfectly embodying the values of Eagle One. The fabric used is 100% recyclable.
Eagle One Copenhagen Special Edition
Victoria Arduino’s Eagle One Copenhagen Special Edition in raffia, a sustainable and biodegradable natural fibre.
As a strong yet lightweight fibre, raffia finds applications in both the design and fashion worlds, as yarn or woven, and now also in the espresso machine. For the Eagle One WOC Copenhagen Special Edition, Victoria Arduino has chosen to use a warm and reassuring colour, which will satisfy the refined taste of those who love natural hues.
The sensory richness and material exuberance of the fabric are given by the interweaving of different yarns that gently stir the surfaces and perfectly embody the values of Eagle One. The yarns stand out to make the espresso machine a truly unique object.

Giulio Cappellini
Design offers an exemplary interpretation of changes, in both places and objects. The spaces and the manufactured things we choose to interact with and experience progressively become more and more a representation of ourselves and our values. This was also why Giulio Cappellini, the Ambassador for Italian Excellence in the World, wanted to launch the Eagle One coffee machine during the I-MADE event (Italian Manufacturer Art & Design Exhibition) of which he is the art director at the Saatchi Gallery in London. For the occasion, the architect and designer created a special customisation with a colour composition and innovative materials.
“Eagle One embodies the contemporaneity of Victoria Arduino, a trademark that came into being at the beginning of the twentieth century and which has worked on and continuously developed a quality product – remembers Cappellini. Both in its design and in its communication, this coffee machine trademark has captured the need of every era and has transformed it into technology”.

Looking to the future – The slowdown refuge
On the occasion of the Design Week (June 7-12), Cappellini stages a double exhibition at the IBM Studios Pavilion in Piazza Gae Aulenti. An engaging experience, a journey into a multifaceted aesthetic universe and a look at the future revealing itself with a house balanced between materiality and immateriality. In Looking to the future, the brand tells its vision of the contemporary product thanks to the interpretation offered by multiple international creatives, with objects immersed in a multisensory scenography. Cappellini Slowdown Refuge, instead, investigates the theme of dwelling in an environment where design and technology merge together; in which the iconic pieces find their aesthetic counterpart in the most innovative products. It’s in this environment that Cappellini decided to put the coffee machine Eagle One Prima.
